To All of You,
Thank you for the wonderful surprise and check. If I had had any idea the items I had were so
valuable I probably should have gotten an armed guard to escort us on Route 81.
I really appreciate the effort you make in my behalf and for the warm welcome I receive when I
arrive. No matter how the sale goes it always make me feel good to receive such a friendly welcome
and to know you appreciate what I bring.
Thanks again, you've made an old woman very happy.
Sincerely,
Anne Turman

Ken,
Wow, what excitement! I was at the sale both days to see all of my items sell. My heart started
pounding three items before the Remmey Jug, when you took out your cell phone to call someone.
I knew it was for the Jug. I was thrilled with the results! It was more exciting than Las Vegas!
I was sitting next to the gentleman who won the bids on the Surveyor's Compass, the Turner oil
painting and the Wythe County Fractur and I think the energy influenced him. Sunday was very
crowded and busy, so I didn't have a opportunity to speak with you. Thank you very much to you
and your staff for all of the hard work that went in to such a successful and enjoyable auction.
Regards,
Jane

Hi Ken!
FYI, the lots I bought got here fine today. I am really pleased especially with the tin
chandelier. What a sweetie. Smaller than I expected but that's what I like about it. The
sconce is great, albeit rusty but I like it.
Many thanks to you and your staff, and shipper, for great service.
Best,
Christine

Dear Mr. Farmer,
I can't remember the last time when my wife and I were in a place of business and treated with such
respect and dignity - and not just us, but all who were present the day of our visit. You, Mr. Miller,
Mr. Kirby, Dorothy and the rest of your staff made all of us feel singular. I am grateful to know that
such kindness still exists in a world that seems out of focus.
Again, our thanks to all of your staff for making our trip so pleasant. We send you our best wishes
and gratitude.
Faithfully,
Jim Winborn (consignor)

Dear Ken,
It was a real pleasure doing business with you. I enjoyed watching the auction online.
My expectations were on the low side so I was very pleased that things went as well as they
did considering the weather and the economy.
My epiphany paid off! It was so nice to meet you and I look forward to your segments on the
Antiques Roadshow. Most important is that others will enjoy "picking" these guitars as much
as Ken Hatcher did. I am most grateful and thankful for the fact that you came to my home
and had a personal interest in Ken's musical menagerie. You made it all so easy for me. I
could have never done it on my own, and I knew the minute I met you that you were an honorable
and trustworthy man. Many, many thanks!.
Sincerely,
Mary Hunt Hatcher

Dear Ken,
On behalf of the entire membership of our society, I want to express our appreciation for
your recent visit to Marco for the museum appraisal fair. The weather gods smiled upon us
and a marvelous time was had by all. We had over three hundred guests for dinner and it is
estimated that 600-800 people walked through those appraisal lines. It was such a treat for
all of us to have you and your colleagues here to participate in this wonderful event.
We hope you all return to Marco someday to see our completed museum.

Dear Mr. Farmer,
I would like to express the Church's appreciation for all your help in the matter of the
estate left to us by a former parishoner. Your generous commission reduction and your
putting the items in the November auction were gratefully recognized by the church.

To the Gracious Staff at Ken Farmer Auctions & Appraisals,
Because of your generosity, preparedness, and assistance, the 3rd Annual
Southwest Region Prevention Retreat was a wonderful success, and the
Prevention Services staff at New River Valley Community Services would
like to thank you for your donation of your space and all of your help
in planning and preparing for this meeting!
Not only did we receive a wealth of compliments regarding the creative and
unique environment, we also received positive comments on the
friendliness and support of the Ken Farmer staff. You aided us in
providing a welcoming and spacious environment for our meeting, and
thanks to you, we set the bar high for next year's meeting! It is
part of the meeting protocol to have attendees evaluate all components
of the retreat, and out of a possible rating of 4, Ken Farmer
facilities and staff received an average of 3.5!
Your assistance in planning this meeting was not only very helpful, but it
helped us to realize the importance of community action and awareness
for our youth in the New River Valley region, and we appreciate your
support.
Again, on behalf of the Prevention Services staff at NRVCS, I'd like to thank
you for your kindness. We couldn't have done it without you!
Sincerely,
Patricia C. Dale, M.S., Prevention Specialist

Dear Ken,
While
we realize you try to remain modest about the Roadshow and all your
other accomplishments, please know that your work is well known and
respected. Your fine reputation is a real draw for our show.

Dear Mr. Farmer,
Thank
you for an opportunity to bid on your February 1, 2009 Antique
Auction.... I also appreciated the kindness of your staff
including Kelly, Mary and Dorothy in successfully coordinating the
phone bidding from the point of initiation to closure. I couldn't
have asked for more amiable, astute personnel to assist me in securing
this document.
Mr.
Rick Hayes from Handle with Care Packaging Store was instrumental in
coordinating the collecting, packaging and shipping of the item.
I found him to be very professional and helpful in selecting the most
appropriate manner in which to ship the parcel safely to my
doorstep. Mr. Hayes and I talked during the planning stages and
he even called me back after he picked up the document from your
auction house. Rick advised, due to the importance and value of
the document, that his shipping company crate the item for an even
safer delivery. As promised, he picked up the item on Monday,
February 9th and delivered it by Wednesday, February 11th, just in time
for Lincoln's birthday. His tone of confidence was instrumental
and essential in alleviating my worries.
Again, thanks so much, Mr. Farmer for providing this unique opportunity.
Sincerely,
Howard Tin

Dear Ken:
On
behalf of our Board of Trustees, our staff, and myself I wish to extend
a very heartfelt thank you to you for your donation of time and talent
to the Hickory Museum of Art.
The
evening was a wonderful success. Our staff and patrons are still
talking about the event, and we truly hope we will be able to offer
such an event to the public in the future.
I
know you went on a lot longer than you had intended and I really
appreciate your willingness to talk with and give brief explanations to
all who were there and had brought items for you to see. I do
hope you were not too tired at the end of the evening.
Again, my thanks for such a wonderful time.
Sincerely,

Dear Ken,
Many
thanks for sponsoring the Community Foundation's successful Holiday
Auction. The way you auctioneered with Steve was just what was
needed - it was inspiring, humorous and action-focused. If that
bravura performance were not enough, your guitar playing with Abe was
over the top. Very cool! You are a player!!
Your
staff as always went out of their way to be helpful - Dorothy, Mary,
Adam made us feel welcomed and well-supported. Kelly brought much
to the auction. Bob came through in countless ways. What a
crew you lead! Many, many thanks for a great partnership in service to the community!
All the best,
Andy (Morikawa)

Dear Mr. Farmer,
We
attended your day for appraisals on April 16, 2008 in Radford. It
was very nice to meet you and the other people in attendance.
You
gave us valuable information on the items we brought. This
service you provided was greatly appreciated by us and I am sure by
many others as well. It is good of you to take the time to help
others in this way.
We
enjoy the Antiques Roadshow and watch it regularly. It is one of
our favorite programs. It is because of shows like this that we
support PBS.
Again, thank you for your time appraising our items. Best wishes always to you and your family.

Dear Bob,
Kelly
and Dorothy and all the rest of your fine colleagues were wonderful to
work with an diligent and caring int he execution of the auction.
I felt like they had the same commitment to making it all work that we
did. It would have been oh so difficult to try and carry
this off working with folks who treated us like an inconvenience.
And, of course, nothing of the sort ever happened. We were all
treated like friends. Rest assured that I will send friends and
neighbors to Ken Farmer Auctions & Appraisals with words of high
praise.
Warm Regards,
Lisa K. Garcia
